The Last of Us remake’s $100 Firefly Edition has already sold out
Sony has confirmed several editions of the game and pre-order bonuses
The most expensive edition of the newly announced The Last of Us remake has already sold out in the US.
On Thursday Sony officially announced the long-anticipated remake, which is called The Last of Us Part 1, for PS5 and PC.
It also revealed three editions of the PS5 version, which will be released on September 2, 2022, plus pre-order bonuses.

Sony has announced plans to restock The Last of Us Part 1’s Firefly Edition in the US and could release it in Europe too.
The Last of Us Part 1 includes the base game as well as its prequel story Left Behind, which was originally released as DLC.
The Standard Edition is priced at $69.99 / $89.99 CAD / £69.99 / €79.99.
The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $79.99 / $99.99 CAD / £79.99 / €89.99 and includes an early unlock of the following in-game items:
- Increased Crafting Speed Skill
- Increased Healing Speed Skill
- 9mm Reload Speed Increase Upgrade
- Rifle Clip Capacity Increase Upgrade
- Explosive Arrows Gameplay Modifier
- Dither Punk Filter
- Speedrun Mode
- Six Weapon Skins: Black Gold 9mm Pistol, Silver Filigree 9mm Pistol, Rubber Tactical Shotgun, Sculpted Oak Shotgun, Arctic White Bow, Carbon Black Bow
The priciest version of the game is the $99.99 Firefly Edition. It includes the same contents as the Digital Deluxe Edition plus a limited edition SteelBook case and The Last of Us: American Dreams comics #1 – #4 with new cover art.
In the US it’s available exclusively via PlayStation Direct, but it’s already listed as out of stock. Sony hasn’t yet revealed plans to make this edition available outside of the US.
All Last of Us Part 1 pre-orders come with bonus in-game supplements and weapon parts to put towards skill and arsenal upgrades.
“We’ve implemented modernized gameplay, improved controls, and expanded accessibility options in this single-player experience to allow even more individuals to enjoy the game,” Naughty Dog senior communications manager Rochelle Snyder said in a PlayStation Blog post.
“Effects, exploration, and combat have all been enhanced. Leveraging the PS5’s powerful hardware, we also implemented 3D Audio, haptics, and adaptive triggers.”
On Thursday Naughty Dog also revealed the first concept art for its standalone The Last of Us multiplayer game.
Studio co-president Neil Druckmann said the title is as big as any of Naughty Dog’s single-player games. It has its own story, a brand-new cast of characters, and more information is scheduled to be revealed in 2023.
The writer and creative director behind The Last of Us games and Uncharted 4 also confirmed that he’s directing a new game.
