The first Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay footage has been shown
The reboot is coming to PC and consoles in September
The first gameplay footage for Mortal Kombat 1 has been shown.
The footage below was revealed during the Summer Game Fest live show today.
Among other features, the trailer shows off Kameo Fighters, a roster of partner characters that can assist during matches.
Announced last month and set for release on September 19, the game “will introduce a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe that has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before”.
NetherRealm is developing the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game and overseeing development of the PC and Nintendo Switch versions, which are being handled by QLOC and Shiver Entertainment / Saber Interactive respectively.
Players who buy Mortal Kombat 1’s Premium Edition or Kollector’s Edition will get early access to the game from September 14.
And those who pre-order the game for PS5 or Xbox Series X/S will receive access to the beta test, which is scheduled to take place in August.
Warner Bros Games has also opened sign-ups for a separate Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test.
“The purpose is to deliberately stress our online infrastructure and identify potential issues ahead of the game’s launch,” the company said in an FAQ.
The test will be available in North America, Latin America, Brazil and Europe.
