The first episode of the Knuckles TV show is available on YouTube for free

The series is set between the second and third Sonic films

The first episode of Paramount’s Knuckles TV show has been made available for free on YouTube.

The six-episode series, which takes place between the Sonic 2 and 3 films, launched last week exclusively on Paramount+.

“The new live-action series will follow Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior,” according to an official description.

Jeff Fowler, who directed both Sonic movies, helmed the first episode of Knuckles, which is viewable abobe, and served as executive producer on the show.

“Ultimately, this series isn’t the knockout that fans were hoping for,” according to VGC’s Knuckles review. “Despite a brilliant start, It’s difficult to shake the feeling that Knuckles was originally intended for theatrical release, with momentum killing filler and heinous product placement the resulting collateral damage.”

Sonic the Hedgehog hit cinemas in 2020 and grossed almost $320 million at the box office. Its sequel followed in 2022 and generated over $405 million.

Fowler announced in late March that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 had wrapped filming ahead of its release in cinemas on December 20, 2024.

Commenting on the success of the movies in a VGC interview, Sonic Team’s boss said it presented a welcome challenge for the studio because it now has a broader audience to satisfy with its game releases.
