The English version of Star Fox artist’s Omega 6 manga gets a release date

The English translation of the Omega 6 manga now has a release date.

Omega 6 is the latest creation of Takaya Imamura, the former Nintendo artist best known for creating characters for such games as F-Zero and Star Fox.

The English version of the manga, which was originally released in France, will be 216 pages long and will be released in the U.S. by Dark Horse Comics on October 21 at a price of $14.99.

The video game inspired by the manga, Omega 6: The Triangle Stars, was released in Japan last year, but the English language version is coming to Switch and PC on February 28.

Junji Seki, game director and president of the game’s development studio Happymeal, says players who have completed the game by the time the manga is released won’t have to worry about simply reading through the same story again.

“The video game version is a totally different story, set in the same world as the Omega 6 comic, full of drama-infused encounters and battles with the 100 plus unique aliens created by Imamura-san,” he explained.

“I hope you enjoy the adventures of Thunder and Kyla in the game as well as the comic – you may even discover characters making an appearance in both.”

In a separate statement, Imamura said he was happy that his manga would be coming to English audiences for the first time.

“I sincerely hope that my manga and games can be enjoyed by people regardless of where they live, and it would make me very happy if my work delivers an exciting and thrilling experience,” he said.

In an interview with VGC in 2023, Imamura revealed that he worked on the Omega 6 manga while also teaching as a university professor after he left Nintendo.

“When I finally retired, a French game researcher reached out to ask about my plans, and I said I had started creating a manga” he recalled. “I finished it within a year, and he really wanted to help me publish it in France. Things moved very smoothly after that.

“At the same time, I was teaching at the International Professional University of Technology in Osaka. I secretly created Omega 6 during my break time in the research room! University teachers have their own research room, so nobody will find that out.”
