The Crew Motorfest will have a 5-hour free trial at launch
Progress made in the trial will carry over if players buy the game
The Crew Motorfest will have a free trial at launch, Ubisoft has confirmed.
The third game in The Crew series will be released on September 14. The free trial will start on the same date, and will run until September 17.
During this period, players will be able to play the first five hours of the game for free, before deciding whether to purchase it.
If they do choose to buy the game, all the progress made and items collected during the five-hour trial period will be carried over.
Ubisoft has also given more details on the game’s Gold and Ultimate Editions. The Gold Edition includes the game and the Year 1 Pass, which will gradually unlock up to 25 new cars over the course of the game’s first year.
The Ultimate Edition will also include the Year 1 Pass, as well as the Ultimate Pack, which “contains many exclusive customisation items for the player’s avatar and vehicles” according to Ubisoft.
Both editions will also provide early access to the game starting on September 11.
The Crew Motorfest takes place on the island of O’ahu in Hawaii and will contain a “diverse” line-up of cars from the past, present and future.
The first entry in the series, The Crew, was released in 2014 and was followed by The Crew 2 in 2018.
Ubisoft claimed in June 2021 that the series had attracted over 30 million players since launch.
