The Chinese Room premieres extended gameplay for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
The long-coming FPS was recently rebooted
Paradox Interactive has premiered the first extended gameplay for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 since it was rebooted.
The company announced last year that The Chinese Room, the Brighton, UK-based studio known for exploration games such as Dear Esther and Everybody’s Gone to Rapture, had taken over development on the game.
The Chinese Room has released a lengthy gameplay video for the FPS, in which creative director Alex Skidmore and community manager Joshua Matthews deep-dive into the game’s mechanics and setting.
“The gameplay and action of Bloodlines 2 is a sort of dance. As players explore the world, soak in the atmosphere, and make strategic choices, they affect their relationships with the characters around them,” explained Skidmore.
“Players can choose their legend, but the world is dynamic, and characters will remember how you treat them. Think carefully, and trust no one.”
Bloodlines 2 was previously developed by Hardsuit Labs and scheduled for release in 2020. However, in August 2020, the action RPG sequel was delayed to 2021, and both its creative director and lead narrative designer were fired. The following year, Paradox pulled development from Hardsuit Labs.
