The Casting of Frank Stone, Supermassive’s solo Dead by Daylight spin-off, has been revealed

Supermassive Games has revealed its spin-off game based on Dead by Daylight.

The Casting of Frank Stone is set in the Dead by Daylight universe, and received its first trailer at The Game Awards.

First announced earlier this year, the project is a collaboration between UK studio Supermassive (Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology, The Quarry) and Canadian Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive.

“We’re obviously all horror fans here at Supermassive, and massive fans of Dead by Daylight,” Supermassive Games studio director Steve Goss said earlier this year.

“Now we’re thrilled to be collaborating with Behaviour on a brand-new single-player interactive story game set in the terrifying omniverse of Dead by Daylight.”

“We’ve been working hard to blend the tension, agency, and branching storytelling of a Supermassive game together with Dead by Daylight’s mythology to create an intense narrative experience filled with powerful life or death choices,” said Supermassive executive producer Traci Tufte.

“Our game will be set outside the Entity’s realm and feature the story of a new cast of characters who players will follow for an unprecedented experience beyond the fog.”

“This is a whole new way for horror fans to experience Dead by Daylight, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with the world.” Goss added.

It doesn’t appear that The Casting of Frank Stone will feature crossover appearances from other horror movie monsters, a feature that has helped build the main game’s popularity.

Chucky and Tiffany from the Child’s Play series were the latest horror movie stars to appear in Dead by Daylight.
