The Callisto Protocol’s latest update includes New Game Plus mode
It also fixes the ‘The Protocol is About Life’ achievement and more
Striking Distance Studios has added a New Game Plus mode to The Callisto Protocol.
Previously expected to arrive in early February, the New Game Plus mode has been made available ahead of schedule as part of the title’s version 3.01 update.
After downloading the patch, users who previously completed the game will be able to carry their progression over to a new save, with all weapons, upgrades and Callisto Credits collectible at the first Reforge station.
The update also includes various fixes, including one which addresses an issue that was preventing some players being granted the ‘The Protocol is About Life’ achievement.
Striking Distance said it has made general performance optimisations across all platforms, and that players no longer take damage when vaulting over obstacles.
It has also “fixed multiple issues where certain camera angles or progression paths could cause environments to stream out and allow Jacob to fall through the ground.”
The Callisto Protocol DLC plans were detailed when the game was released in early December. At the time, Striking Distance said New Game Plus would be released alongside Hardcore modes as part of a free update on February 7.
In terms of premium season pass content, the Outer Way Skin Collection is also scheduled to arrive on February 7. It will be followed by the Contagion Bundle in March, the Riot Bundle in the spring, and new story content in the summer.
VGC’s The Callisto Protocol review called it “a solid, but safe Dead Space successor” which is lacking in originality but delivers strong strategic combat.
