The Black Ops Cold War multiplayer alpha has been detailed and is now available to pre-load
Sample 6v6 and 12v12 modes across five maps this weekend exclusively on PS4
Activision has detailed the PS4 exclusive Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer alpha, which is available to pre-load now ahead of its launch this weekend.
Announced during Wednesday’s PS5 showcase, the alpha begins on September 18th at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm UK and will run for 48 hours.
The alpha is free for all PS4 players outside of Germany, where a PlayStation Plus subscription is required due to the game’s age rating.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War alpha download is now available to pre-load and weighs in at approximately 25GB.
Supported 6v6 multiplayer modes will include Team Deathmatch, Domination and Kill Confirmed on three maps: Miami, Moscow and Satellite.
Combined Arms: Domination, a 12v12 twist on traditional Domination set in larger maps featuring vehicles, will be playable on two maps: Armada and Crossroads.
Players will be able to choose from several default loadouts and sample limited Create-a-Class, Gunsmith and Scorestreak customisation features.
Activision unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer mode last week and confirmed plans to launch an open beta starting on October 8.
PS4 pre-order customers will get first access to the beta, followed by general PS4 players on October 10, then other pre-order customers on October 15, ahead of general access on October 17.
