The best speedrun videos from Games Done Quick 2020
Annual event breaks record for charity donations, with over $3 million raised
The annual video game speedrun festival, Games Done Quick, has raised a record $3,131,475 for charity.
The figure is nearly 100k over the week-long event’s previous record, with all funds going to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Games Done Quick sees volunteers play games at incredible speed (“Speedrunning”) for entertainment and is streamed live online, non-stop, with all donations going directly to charity.
To date, the event has raised over $25 million in donations for charity since it started in 2010.
Highlights from the 2020 schedule included a dramatic ‘blind’ level race on Super Mario Maker 2, Sekiro finished in 1:35 and an epic 2-hour playthrough of all four Fallout games.
We’ve collected some of the very best speedruns from this year’s show and embedded them below.
