Tequila Works’ Gylt is a Stadia-exclusive horror game
Rime and Sexy Brutale dev reveals latest
Developer Tequila Works announced its latest game, Gylt, during Thursday’s Stadia Connect presentation.
Gylt is being developed exclusively for Google Stadia.
The horror story-driven title drops players into what the game’s website describes as a “creepy and melancholic world” as they help the main character, Sally, search for her missing cousin, Emily.
The game employs surreal imagery, “mixing fantasy and reality” to create an exaggerated and unsettling atmosphere in which players will experience its “eerie story.”
Players will choose whether to avoid or confront “terrible creatures” as they navigate the game’s “wicked world,” pointing to stealth being a key tenet of the game’s mechanics.
Gylt promises to delivery “a journey where you face your worst fears and are confronted with the emotional impact of your actions.”
Tequila Works has a track record with dour puzzle games. The studio previously developed Rime and The Sexy Brutale.
Gylt will release as part of Google Stadia’s launch slate later this year.
