Telling Lies is coming to consoles next week
Sam Barlow’s FMV thriller releasing for Switch, PS4 and Xbox One
Full motion video mystery game Telling Lies will be released for consoles next week.
The game will be available for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One on April 28, publisher Annapurna Interactive said on Tuesday.
Originally released for PC and iOS devices in August 2019, Telling Lies is the latest game from Sam Barlow, the writer and designer of Her Story, Silent Hill: Origins and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.
Starring Logan Marshall-Green, Alexandra Shipp, Kerry Bishé and Angela Sarafyan, it’s an investigative thriller revolving around a series of secretly recorded video conversations presented to the player on a laptop.
“The footage covers two years in the intimate lives of four people whose stories are linked by a shocking incident,” reads the blurb for the game on its official site. “Explore the database by typing search terms, watch the clips where those words are spoken and piece together your story.
“Unlike anything you’ve played before, Telling Lies is an intimate and intense experience. A game where you decide the truth.”
The PC version of the title has a Metascore of 84 on review aggregation site Metacritic, based on 34 reviews.
Following the releases of Telling Lies, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Outer Wilds, Wattam, and iOS and PC ports of Journey, Annapurna Interactive was named VGC’s Games Publisher of the Year 2019.
