Tekken 8 will reportedly be shown during The Game Awards
A promotional item tells fans to tune in for the stream
Tekken 8 will make an appearance at The Game Awards, it’s been reported.
Twitch streamer AvoidingThePuddle tweeted a photo of what appears to be promotional merchandise for the game.
The package includes a t-shirt with the Tekken 8 logo on it, as well as a message suggesting that the game will be shown at The Game Awards.
The message simply reads, “tune into The Game Awards livestream”, and includes a link to The Game Awards’ Twitch channel and a reminder of its December 8 date.
Tekken 8 was officially announced in September, during a PlayStation State of Play livestream.
The reveal video showed gameplay footage of Jin fighting Kazuya on the side of a volcano, footage that Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada stressed was running in real-time.
“We are very excited to show the next generation of Tekken,” Harada said at the time.
“The team at Bandai Namco Studios has been hard at work to bring groundbreaking new features to Tekken 8, pushing the feeling of power in battles continuously further by harnessing the power of the latest generation of consoles. We can’t wait to show you more in the months to come.”
Featuring world premieres, musical performances and special guests, The Game Awards will be streamed live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 8.
It Takes Two won the top prize at The Game Awards 2021, where it scooped three awards including the coveted Game of the Year.
Other headlines from the show included the reveals of Alan Wake 2, Sonic Frontiers, Star Wars Eclipse, Wonder Woman and Slitterhead.
