Teardown has been dated for consoles, will be on PlayStation Plus on day one
DLC plans also revealed for Tuxedo Labs’ demolition heist adventure
Voxel-based destruction game Teardown will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 15, 2023.
The game will also be available as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue on day one, developer Tuxedo Labs has announced.
Teardown was well received following its PC release last year, garnering a score of 80 on review aggregation site Metacritic.
The game challenges players to “plan the perfect heist using creative problem solving, brute force and everything around you,” according to Tuxedo Labs.
“Teardown features a fully destructible and truly interactive environment where player freedom and emergent gameplay are the driving mechanics.
“Tear down walls with explosives or vehicles to create shortcuts no one thought was possible. Stack objects, build structures or use floating objects to your advantage. Take your time to create an efficient path through the level, plan the heist and get ready to execute it.”
In a PlayStation Blog post accompanying Teardown’s console release date announcement, Tuxedo Labs CEO Marcus Dawson also announced plans to release a series of new missions, maps, vehicles, and other content over the next year, along with the game’s first-ever season pass.
Sony announced October’s PlayStation Plus Essential games on Wednesday. The Callisto Protocol, Farming Simulator 22 and Weird West will be available for subscribers to claim next month on PS5 and PS4.
