Take-Two announces new sci-fi FPS from Halo co-creator
Disintegration to be unveiled at Gamescom ahead of 2020 release
Take-Two has announced Disintegration, a new science fiction first-person shooter from developer V1 Interactive, an independent studio co-founded by former Bungie creative director Marcus Lehto.
The title is set to be unveiled at Gamescom on August 19 and released next year by Take-Two publishing label Private Division, which was established in 2017 to work with independent developers.
According to the announcement, V1 Interactive was founded by the co-creators of Halo and SOCOM: US Navy SEALs in 2014. Based in the Pacific Northwest, it’s described as a “small and agile studio” comprised of AAA veterans and young hungry talent.
“The opportunity to create not only a new game, but this entire studio has been exhilarating,” said V1 Interactive president and game director Lehto. “It is great to be able to share what this amazing team has been working on, and we can’t wait to introduce this new game that our team is building to the world next month.”
Private Division head Michael Worosz called Lehto “a gaming icon whose creativity has influenced an entire industry”.
He added: “We’ve been with Marcus and the V1 Interactive team since the studio’s inception and have seen the organization grow its talent base throughout our partnership. As such, we have high confidence in Disintegration, and cannot wait to introduce it as another unique experience that further enhances the Private Division lineup.”
