Switch SNES controllers: ‘Small amount’ of extra stock to go on sale
Nintendo of Europe “still investigating issues”
Nintendo will make “a small amount” of additional Switch SNES controllers available to buy in Europe soon, it’s said.
Update, October 8: Switch SNES controllers are once again available to buy in Europe, although Nintendo says stock is “very limited”.
Original story continues: Nintendo of Europe opened online orders for SNES controllers on Monday September 30, two weeks after the product went on sale in the US.
But shortly after online orders launched in Europe, some users reported having trouble successfully completing orders, leading to an apology from Nintendo, which said it was “looking into” the problem.
Nintendo of Europe tweeted the following update on Wednesday: “Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Controllers.
“A small amount of additional stock will be added soon, and we are still investigating the purchasing issues some users experienced. Please stay tuned for updates.”
A library of 20 SNES games for Nintendo Switch Online launched in early September.
Nintendo subsequently released Switch system update version 9.0.0, making the console compatible with SNES controllers.
