Switch retro compilation Taito Milestones is coming to the west

An upcoming retro compilation for the Switch which focuses on Japanese studio Taito is coming to the west.

It was announced in June that Taito Milestones, a 10-game compilation featuring classic Taito games, was due to be released in Japan in February 2022.

No western release was confirmed at the time, but this has now changed, with ININ Games confirming that it’ll be publishing the collection in the west.

The game will be available in physical and digital forms, with Limited Edition and Collector’s Edition versions going up for pre-order at Strictly Limited Games on November 25.

The 10 games included in the collection are:

  • Qix (1981)
  • Alpine Ski (1982)
  • Front Line (1982)
  • Wild Western (1982)
  • Chack’n Pop (1983)
  • Elevator Action (1983)
  • The FairyLand Story (1985)
  • Halley’s Comet (1986)
  • The Ninja Warriors (1987)
  • A tenth game still to be confirmed

The Collector’s Edition will be priced at €89.99, will be limited to 2,000 copies, and will contain physical collectibles (which have yet to be confirmed). The Limited Edition will cost €39.99 and be limited to 3,000 copies.

Standard physical and digital editions will also be available at other retailers and the Nintendo eShop respectively.

This is the latest Taito-themed retro compilation released in the west by ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games.

A Special Edition version of Space Invaders Forever is due for release on December 10. It features three modern takes on Space Invaders and a number of physical collectibles including a rubber keychain, an A3 poster and a notepad.
