Switch Bubble Bobble to include updated version of original game
Updated game will feature original music, sound and visuals
Taito’s new four-player Bubble Bobble game for Nintendo Switch will include an updated version of 1986’s original Bubble Bobble.
Revealed in August, Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is Taito’s first internally developed title since it re-entered the consumer games market earlier this year. It will include 100 levels of its own, plus 100 from 1986’s Bubble Bobble complete with original music, sound and visuals, publisher ININ Games announced on Wednesday.
The cult arcade platformer sees twins Bub and Bob on a mission to free their kidnapped girlfriends from evil baron Von Blubba.
In Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, Taito introduces four-player co-op to the series, as well as special skills acquired by collecting specific letter bubbles to add a layer of strategic depth.
Bubble Bobble 4 Friends will be released both digitally and physically for Switch in Europe and Australasia on November 19, 2019, with a release in the USA and South America to follow in the first quarter of 2020.
A Collector’s Edition of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends will be distributed by Strictly Limited Games.
