Superhot and Hotline Miami Collection get surprise Switch launches
Indie games showcase also confirms Ori and the Blind Forest and Risk of Rain 2 for Switch
Indie first-person shooter hit Superhot and the Hotline Miami Collection will launch on Nintendo Switch on Monday.
The surprise releases were announced today during a Switch indie games showcase (above), which was also used to to confirm that Microsoft will release Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition for Switch in September.
Mixing strategy and chaotic gunplay, Superhot’s central mechanic sees time move only when the player does, giving them a chance to defeat otherwise insurmountable odds. The Kickstarter funded project has sold over two million copies since debuting on PC in February 2016.
The Hotline Miami Collection bundles both games in the violent top-down action series, which is developed by Dennaton Games and published by Devolver Digital.
Multiplayer roguelike Risk of Rain 2, developed by Hopoo Games and published by Gearbox Publishing, will arrive on Nintendo‘s console this summer, while action RPG Torchlight II, developed by Panic Button/Runic Games and published by Perfect World Entertainment, will release for Switch on September 3.
Other titles confirmed for release on Switch during the showcase included Eastward (Chucklefish, 2020), Freedom Finger (Wide Right Interactive, autumn 2019), The Touryst (Shin’en, November 2019), Skellboy (Fabraz, December 3), Röki (United Label, winter 2019), Youropa (Frecle, winter 2019), EarthNight (Cleaversoft, 2019), Dungeon Defenders: Awakened (Chromatic Games, February 2020), and Skater XL (Easy Day Studios Pty, 2020).
