Summer Game Fest returns in June 2023, just days before the revamped E3
Geoff Keighley’s show promises world premieres, live gameplay demos and more
Next year’s Summer Game Fest event has been dated.
Billing itself as the “global fan celebration of what’s next in video games”, the event will return for the fourth year with a live kick-off show on Thursday, June 8, 2023 – less than a week before E3.
Promising world premieres, live gameplay demos and announcements, the show will take place in front of a live audience at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California.
“Over the past three years, Summer Game Fest has cultivated an incredible community around the world through our digital-first events, and we’re thrilled to invite thousands of fans to experience the SGF show in-person for the first time in 2023,” said event curator and host Geoff Keighley.
“In keeping with tradition, we’ll have tons of exciting announcements from the developers that are pushing the games industry forward, and will once again highlight other publisher digital events, demos, and more surprises to be announced in the coming months.”
The full line-up of Summer Game Fest 2023 participants and activities will be announced in the new year, when tickets for the event will also be available to purchase.
The core of Summer Game Fest 2022 took place from June 9-12, but announcements were spread over a matter of weeks. Its showcase live event featured games including Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Street Fighter 6, The Callisto Protocol, Gotham Knights and The Last of Us Part 1.
E3 2023 – which will be the show’s first in-person event in four years – will officially run from June 13-16, new organiser ReedPop announced in September.
Under a revamped format, the first two days of E3 2023 will be reserved exclusively for business. The third day will welcome both business and consumer visitors, while the final day will be dedicated to consumers.
