Suicide Squad reveal confirmed for The Game Awards
Rocksteady will “share the mayhem” with fans at the event
Rocksteady Studios has confirmed a Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League reveal for The Game Awards later today.
“Me and the Rocksteady Games squad are getting ready to dive into the #TheGameAwards,” Rocksteady creative director and co-founder Sefton Hill tweeted. “Can’t wait to share the mayhem with you all!”
The Game Awards kicks off on December 9 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT (December 10 at 1am GMT).
Suicide Squad is billed as a “genre-bending action-adventure shooter” set in an open-world Metropolis.
Playable solo or with up to four players in online co-op, its original story follows Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark, who are on a mission to save Earth and kill the world’s greatest DC Super Heroes, The Justice League.
Publisher Warner Bros. premiered a Suicide Squad story trailer during its DC Fandome event in October.
It appeared to show in-engine cutscene footage and showed the Squad preparing to team up to take on DC’s iconic superhero team, who appear to be infected with some sort of virus that turns them evil.
Suicide Squad was announced alongside Gotham Knights at 2020’s DC Fandome event. It’s scheduled to be released worldwide in 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
