Streets of Rage 4 will release this month
PC, consoles and Game Pass date set for retro brawler
Streets of Rage 4 will release on April 30 for PC, consoles and Xbox Game Pass for console and PC, developer and publisher Dotemu has announced.
The game, which is co-developed by Lizardcube (Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap) and Guard Crush Games (Streets of Fury), will retail for $24.99.
The announcement was published on Friday alongside a trailer revealing the game’s Battle Mode, a “legacy experience” returning from Streets of Rage 2 and 3.
Streets of Rage 4 is the Sega brawler’s first instalment in 25 years. The game reunites characters Axel, Blaze and Adam while introducing new fighters and combat features in a hand-drawn art style.
The game features music from series composers Yūzō Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima, as well as Street Fighter II composer Yoko Shimomura and Ninja Gaiden composer Keiji Yamagishi.
Streets of Rage 4 also pays tribute to the original trilogy with unlockable pixel art characters, complete with movesets and abilities unique to their respective games.
Players can also switch to the series’ original soundtrack from Streets of Rage 1 and Streets of Rage 2.
