Streets of Rage 4 gets spring release, co-op detailed
Latest trailer also introduces new playable character Floyd Iraia
Publisher Dotemu has confirmed that Streets of Rage 4 will be released this spring for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
It has also said that the first mainline instalment in the series for over 25 years will support two-player online and up to four-player offline co-op.
And a trailer released on Monday introduces the all-new playable character Floyd Iraia. The cybernetically enhanced brawler has relatively slow movement and health recovery but offers the longest reach of the playable roster and devastating power.
“The highly anticipated sequel embodies the classic trilogy’s gritty, neon-streaked urban atmosphere in a fully original experience boasting a strikingly fluid hand-drawn art style,” according to its publisher.
Streets of Rage 4 is being co-developed by Dotemu (Windjammers), Lizardcube (Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap) and Guard Crush Games (Streets of Fury).
The game will feature music from original series composers Yūzō Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima, plus Street Fighter II composer Yoko Shimomura, Jet Set Radio composer Hideki Naganuma and Ninja Gaiden composer Keiji Yamagishi.
