Street Fighter 6’s fourth DLC character, Akuma, is coming in May
Alongside fresh outfits for DLC characters, a new stage and “major battle balance updates”
Street Fighter 6‘s fourth DLC character, Akuma, will be released next month.
Akuma will be unlocked on May 22 for players who own the Year 1 Character Pass.
Like all other DLC characters, Akuma will feature in all three Street Fighter 6 modes – World Tour, Fighting Ground, and Battle Hub.
The new fighter will arrive alongside fresh outfits for fellow Year 1 DLC characters Rashid, A.K.I. and Ed.
“Major battle balance updates” will be introduced on May 22 too, as will the game’s newest stage, Enma’s Hollow, “where Akuma resides to continue his hellbent training”.
Street Fighter 6 has sold over three million copies since it was released in June 2023, according to Capcom, which is targeting 10 million lifetime sales for the game.
The company is set to co-produce a new live-action Street Fighter movie with Legendary Entertainment, after the Dune and Godzilla vs. Kong production company acquired the film and TV rights to the fighting series last year.
Last week, Capcom raised its full-year earnings forecast after new and older games sold well during the 12 months ended on March 31, 2024.
Among the highlights, Capcom cited the strong performance of its first $70 game, Dragon’s Dogma 2, which has topped 2.5 million sales since its release last month.
