Street Fighter 6 will get an open beta later this month
The weekend-long event will be open to everyone for free
Capcom has announced that an open beta for Street Fighter 6 will take place later this month.
The beta will start on the morning of Friday, May 19 at 00:00 PT / 05:00 ET / 08:00 BST and will end on the morning of Monday, May 22 at 00:00 PT / 05:00 ET / 08:00 BST.
The beta will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam and will be available for anyone to play and take part in online matches, even if they don’t have a PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold account (though they’ll need one for the final game).
Players will, however, have to create a Capcom ID if they don’t already have one, and link it to their platform of choice. Capcom recommends doing so before the open beta launches so players can get started quicker.
Capcom says the open beta will feature the same playable characters and content as were present in the second closed beta, which took place in December 2022.
Players will be able to choose from Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, Luke and Jamie, and will be able to fight on six different stages.
They will also be able to create a character then take part in Ranked Matches, Casual Matches, Battle Hub Matches and Open Tournaments.
They will also have access to other modes such as Training Mode, Hub Goods Shop, Extreme Battles, Game Center, Challenges, DJ Booth and Photo Spot.
Street Fighter 6 will be released on June 2 with a launch roster of 18 characters.
Capcom‘s president recently said the company aims to sell 10 million copies of the game, which would make it the best-selling title in the series.
