Steam autumn sale features discounts on thousands of games
2019 Steam Awards nominations also now open
Valve has launched the Steam autumn sale, featuring discounts on thousands of games across its catalogue.
Featured discounts include Code Vein for £27.99 (30% off), Gears 5 for £24.99 (50% off), Cities: Skylines for £5.74 (75% off), Rage 2 for £13.19 (67% off) and The Surge 2 for £26.39 (40% off).
Discounted games will be available until December 3 at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm UK.
Valve has also opened nominations for the 2019 Steam Awards, which can be voted for by players during the autumn sale period.
The Epic Games store is also currently running a Black Friday sale featuring discounts of up to 75% on selected PC games, valid until December 2.
It was reported this week that Valve has discontinued its Steam Controller peripheral, after selling off its remaining stock in a $5 fire sale.
The Steam Controller’s end comes a year after Valve discontinued the Steam Link, a streaming box for playing PC games on a television wirelessly.
Valve has shifted its hardware focus to VR in recent years. In 2016 it launched Vive in partnership with HTC, then earlier this year the company announced its own VR headset, Valve Index.
Perhaps most significantly, earlier this month Valve announced its flagship VR title Half-Life: Alyx, which will come free with all Valve Index sales.
