Star Wars Outlaws’ lead says she would ‘absolutely’ like to play Kay Vess in live-action
Humberly Gonzalez provided both the vocal and motion capture performance for the character
Kay Vess actor Humberly Gonzalez has said she’d ‘absolutely’ play Kay Vess in live-action.
Speaking to VGC in a new interview, Gonzalez spoke about her interest in playing the character, for whom she provides the voice and motion capture performance, in a live-action adaptation.
“Absolutely,” she responded. “Seeing what an actual human connection to the world could look like, I know I have the skills to bring that to real life.”
Speaking on the responsibility of being the main character in a Star Wars project, Gonzalez called it a “beautiful responsibility.”
“There’s definitely this sense of beautiful responsibility, but I also feel like if I were going to be in any franchise, I feel honoured and ready to be part of this one. Being an immigrant and Latina and queer and learning English at a later age, living in Canada, all of the opportunities that brought me to that point to then getting to show my work and be chosen for something like this, it felt very mutual.”
VGC recently played four hours of Star Wars Outlaws. We’ve published 20 minutes of 4K footage of Star Wars Outlaws alongside a deep-dive preview of the game.
Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Players who purchase the game’s Gold or Ultimate editions will receive three days of early access in addition to digital goods, including the game’s Season Pass.
The Season Pass will also include “a Day 1 exclusive mission with Jabba” called Jabba’s Gambit.
