Electronic Arts will release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Featuring “a number of technical improvements”, the next-gen version of Respawn’s action adventure game will arrive in the summer of 2021.

It will be available as a free cross-gen upgrade to existing owners of the game.

“More details will come soon,” according to announcement on the official Star Wars website.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was classified for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S by the German video games rating board in March.

EA released a next-gen optimisation update in January, which enhances the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game when played on Sony‘s and Microsoft‘s latest consoles.

The update improves framerate and dynamic resolution ranges on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The two more powerful consoles also had their post-processing resolutions improved.

EA said in July 2020 that Respawn’s game had surpassed 10 million unique players.

The publisher labelled it “one of the breakout titles of the last several years” and CEO Andrew Wilson called it “the first title in an entirely new franchise”, suggesting a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel is on the cards.

Respawn, which is also behind the Titanfall and Apex Legends series, recently confirmed it is working on an original game project.
