Star Fox artist’s Omega 6 gets its first English-language trailer
The game will be released in the west next year
The first English language trailer for Omega 6: The Triangle Stars has been released.
The game, which is a text-based adventure with graphics based on the 16-bit era, was released in Japan last month but only featured a Japanese language option.
Now publishers Clear River Games and City Connection have released the first trailer of the English language version of the game, set to be release on Switch and PC in 2025.
Omega 6 is based on a manga created by former Nintendo art director Takaya Imamura.
Imamura is the story and art director for the game, while former Nintendo composer Shinobu Amayake (Stunt Race FX, Wario’s Woods) has created the music.
An English-language version of Imamura’s comic will also be released in the west, published by Dark Horse Comics.
Speaking exclusively to VGC last year, Imamura explained the similarities between Omega 6 and Star Fox.
“Story-wise, it’s different, but the style I draw, which is like a ‘retro future’, is similar,” he said. “That’s the only thing I can draw – that’s my style – so I didn’t change it! I’ve always wanted to draw manga with this style, so I just applied it from my past games.”
Imamura left Nintendo in 2021 after three decades, having worked on such titles as F-Zero, Star Fox and numerous Zelda games including A Link to the Past and Majora’s Mask.
