Square Enix confirms Nier remaster for consoles and PC

Square Enix is to release a remastered version of Nier Replicant for PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.

The updated version of 2010’s third-person action RPG is officially titled Nier Replicant ver1.22474487139.

Developed in collaboration with Toylogic, the title “invites players into a dark, apocalyptic world as they join a brother’s captivating quest to cure his sister of a deadly disease – a quest which will in turn make them question everything”.

A launch window for the game has yet to be announced.

Nier Replicant is the prequel to the Nier: Automata, which was developed by PlatinumGames and released in 2017.

Square Enix also said this week that Nier: Automata has shipped 4.5 million copies and will be made available via Xbox Game Pass on April 2.

PlatinumGames studio head Atsushi Inaba discussed the company’s collaboration with Square Enix on the project as part of a wide-ranging interview with VGC last year.
