Splatoon 3 gets September release date and a new trailer
Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion DLC also added to Switch Online’s Expansion Pack tier
Nintendo has confirmed that Splatoon 3 will be released on September 9, 2022.
The release date announcement was accompanied by a new trailer for the game, which is viewable below.
It features over three minutes of footage of Splatoon 3’s online 4-v-4 Turf War battles.

The online mode will include a mix of new and returning stages, where teams are challenged to cover the most ground in their ink.
The latest footage features a new stage, Eeltail Alley, and a new weapon called the Stringer, which is a bow that shoots ink sideways and vertically.
In addition to Turf War, Splatoon 3 includes a new single-player campaign and a fresh version of the Salmon Run mode.
Nintendo said in February that Splatoon 3 would be released this summer.
The game is now available to pre-order at selected retailers with a suggested retail price of $59.99 / £49.99.
Also beginning today, Nintendo has added Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion DLC to Switch Online’s Expansion Pack membership tier.
Nintendo released Splatoon 2‘s final significant update, version 5.0, in July 2019 after two years of post-launch support.
Earlier this week, Nintendo brought forward the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 release date to July.
Monolith Soft’s RPG was previously scheduled to arrive in September, a slot which will now be filled by Splatoon 3.
