Spider-Man 2’s release date has been confirmed
Pre-orders for three different editions open this month ahead of the game’s release in October
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been given a release date.
Revealed at Summer Game Fest on Thursday, the superhero sequel will be released for PS5 on October 20, 2023.
Pre-orders will open on June 16 and Insomniac has today detailed the game’s various editions and pre-order bonuses.
Anyone who pre-orders the game will receive an early unlock Arachknight Suit for Peter with three additional colour variants, an early unlock Shadow Spider Suit for Miles with three extra colour variants, an early unlock Web Grabber gadget, plus three skill points.
The standard edition of the game will be priced at $69.99 / £69.99 / €79.99.
The Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99 / £79.99 / €89.99) will include the base game, all pre-order bonuses, plus 10 unique suits (five for each hero), additional Photo Mode frames and stickers, and two extra skill points.
A Collector’s Edition ($229.99 / £219.99 / €249.99) will come with a voucher for the Digital Deluxe Edition, a Steelbook case, and a 19-inch statue featuring Peter Parker and Miles Morales battling Venom. This will seemingly be available exclusively via Sony’s online store PlayStation Direct.
The game stars Peter and Miles, with players able to swap between both characters, although it isn’t a co-op title.
“You’ll seamlessly switch between both Spider-Men across a variety of story moments in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” according to Insomniac. “We want players to bask in iconic team-ups elevated by our signature set piece moments, and experience the story from the perspective of each Spider-Man.”
