Sony’s infamous E3 2006 press conference has been uploaded to YouTube in full HD for the first time.

Arguably one of the most memorable E3 showcases ever saw PlayStation fully unveil the PlayStation 3, with many of its most awkward moments, such as ‘giant enemy crab’ and ‘Riiidge Racer’ becoming early internet memes.

The upload is made possible by the Noclip Game History Archive, an initiative that is seeing the game documentary channel convert and preserve tapes and discs containing early game assets.

NoClip says it’s obtained hundreds of videotapes containing trailers, making of features and news reports of classic video games, which it wants to digitise so that they don’t disappear forever.
