Sony’s Days of Play sale will include 25% off PlayStation Plus subscriptions
The sale will run from June 2-12
Sony has announced the first details of its latest Days of Play sale, which kicks off this week.
Featuring deals across PlayStation Direct, PlayStation Store and PlayStation Gear, “with additional offerings available at participating retailers”, the sale will run from June 2 at 12.01am local time until June 12 at 11.59pm.
Headlining the sale will be discounts on PlayStation Plus subscriptions.
For both new and current members, all 12-month plans (Essential, Extra, and Premium/Deluxe) will be offered at 25% off.
Current PlayStation Plus Essential and Extra members will also be able to get 25% off 1-month, 3-month, or 12-month memberships when upgrading to a higher tier.
A variety of digital games and add-ons will also be discounted on PlayStation Store, Sony said.
In the US, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, there’ll be a wide range of deals on select PS5, PS4 and PC games and accessories at PlayStation Direct.
To coincide with the launch of PlayStation Direct in Austria, Italy, Spain and Portugal, players in those countries will be able to use the discount code DOPSAVE15 to save up to 15% on select PS5 accessories, and the code DOPSAVE40 to get up to 40% off select PS5 games.
On PlayStation Gear, which sells officially licensed and limited products inspired by PlayStation, customers will be able to use the code DAYSOFPLAY23 to receive 20% off select merchandise and free shipping on all orders.
Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan provided a wide-ranging PlayStation update during a Sony business segment briefing last week.
During the presentation, he said 30% of PlayStation Plus users are subscribed to the more expensive Premium and Extra tiers, which were introduced last summer.
Ryan also claimed PlayStation VR2 sales were tracking ahead of its predecessor after its first six weeks of availability.
He also said Sony has “some fairly interesting and quite aggressive plans” to accelerate cloud gaming initiatives “that will unfold over the course of the coming months”.
And PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst said Bungie is being used to help rigorously vet the 12 live service games Sony has in development.
