Sony will reportedly offer 25% off PlayStation Plus subscriptions for Black Friday
The deal will cover all membership tiers, according to a reliable leaker
Customers looking to pick up a new PlayStation Plus subscription should probably hold out until later this month, when Sony is expected to offer a significant discount on memberships.
According to Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has been accurately leaking the PlayStation Plus line-ups almost every month since September 2021, all subscription tiers will be discounted by 25% in a Black Friday promotion.
Running from November 18-28 (Black Friday itself is on the 25th), the offer will reportedly see 12-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions available for the following prices:
- PlayStation Plus Essential – $44.99 / €44.99 / £37.49 (normally $59.99 / €59.99 / £49.99)
- PlayStation Plus Extra – $74.99 / €74.99 / £62.99 (normally $99.99 / €99.99 / £83.99)
- PlayStation Plus Premium – $89.99 / €89.99 / £74.99 (normally $119.99 / €119.99 / £99.99)
If accurate, the promotion will mark the first official PlayStation Plus discount offered by Sony since the service underwent a revamp in early June, which is when it introduced its current three tier structure.
Since then, the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers has dropped by nearly two million, a decline Sony has blamed on declining third-party game and PS4 sales as well as more people going outdoors.
November’s PlayStation Plus Essential games are Nioh 2 (PS4 / PS5), Heavenly Bodies (PS5 / PS4) and Lego Harry Potter Collection (PS4).
This month’s Game Catalog titles, which are only available for Extra and Premium members, include The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition, Rainbow Six Siege, and several Kingdom Hearts games.
November’s additions to the PlayStation Plus Classics library, which is only available to Premium subscribers, include five Ratchet & Clank games.
