Sony says God of War Ragnarök has sold 11 million copies in 3 months
It was the fastest-selling first-party game in PlayStation history when it released in November
God of War Ragnarök has sold approximately 11 million copies in three months, according to Sony.
Developer Santa Monica Studio announced the game’s latest sales figure on Wednesday.
“We’re incredibly humbled that God of War Ragnarök has officially sold through 11 million copies,” it said.
“None of this would be possible without the support of our fans, so thank you for coming on this journey with us!”

In its quarterly earnings results, Sony claimed that God of War Ragnarök sales surpassed 11 million copies in the first 10 weeks after its release, “making it the fastest selling first-party title ever”.
God of War Ragnarök made a record-breaking start following its release for PS4 and PS5 on November 9, 2022.
Sony claimed 5.1 million copies of the game were sold in its debut week, making it the fastest-selling first-party title in PlayStation history.
Ahead of the game’s release, Sony said 2018’s God of War reboot was one of the biggest titles ever released exclusively for PlayStation, with 23 million sales, and that it expected a similar performance from its sequel Ragnarök.

Amazon and Sony are currently working on a God of War TV adaptation which will follow the events of 2018’s God of War.
