Sony is holding a series of PS4 fighting game tournaments ahead of Evo 2021
$74,000 in total prize pool up for grabs
Sony has announced the Evo Community Series, a series of PS4 fighting game tournaments set to take place ahead of the online Evo 2021 event this summer.
As part of the Series, PlayStation will host three tournaments from June 10 through August 3, partnering with the long-running fighting game event it jointly-acquired earlier this year.
The first tournament, FFC Arcade: Evo Edition will run June 10 – 22 in North America and Europe, with a prize pool of $20,000 and featured titles Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Guilty Gear Strive, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate and Tekken 7.
Then from June 26 – July 13, Evo 2021 Online Warm-up will be open to players in North America, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Asia, with a prize pool of $19,00 and featured titles Guilty Gear Strive, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, Street Fighter V: Champion Edition and Tekken 7.
Finally, Evo 2021 Online Side Tournaments will run July 8 – August 3 for players in North America, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Asia and Japan.
Side Tournaments will have a $35,000 prize pool and featured games BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. Maxi Boost ON, Skullgirls 2nd Encore, Soulcalibur VI and Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r].

The full Evo 2021 Online event is due to run August 6-8 and 13-15, with registration open today.
Players from North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America will be able to enter Evo Online for free and compete in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition (PS4/PS5/PC), Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate (PS4/PS5), Tekken 7 (PC) and Guilty Gear Strive (PS4/PS5).
