Sonic Frontiers is being streamed on Twitch after street date reportedly broken
Sega is currently battling to plug the leaks
Sonic Frontiers is being streamed online ahead of the game’s official release next week.
The game’s street date has reportedly been broken by some retailers, allowing players to purchase the game early and share large portions of it online, leading to a flood of spoilers.
A pirated version of the Switch version of the game is also reportedly being widely circulated.
While most of these streams are being taken down within minutes of starting, in some cases up to an hour of the game has been streamed before being removed from Twitch, Twitter and YouTube.
Sonic Frontiers is the latest major release this year to suffer from leaks after copies of the game were obtained early.
Last week, the street date for God of War Ragnarök was also broken, leading to large portions of the game appearing online.
This leak led Sony Santa Monica creative director Cory Barlog to tweet: “Sorry to everyone that you have to dodge the spoilers if you want to play the game fresh. Completely fucking stupid you have to do this. This is not at all how any of us at SMS wanted things to go.”
Gotham Knights and A Plague Tale Requiem also faced similar broken street date issues earlier this year.
Sonic Frontiers will officially be released on November 8, 2022 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC. It will be getting free Monster Hunter DLC shortly after release.
