It looks like Sonic Colors is getting a remaster this year
2010 platformer listed for re-release by retailer and voice-over studio
Sega looks set to release a remaster of 2010’s Sonic Colors this year.
As spotted by Gematsu, German voice-over studio iksample has listed work on “Sonic Colors Remastered” in its portfolio of projects.
Possibly adding further credence is a French retail listing for “Sonic Colors Ultimate”, which has the supposed remaster down for a 2021 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Sonic Colors launched for Wii and DS in November 2010. The two versions featured entirely different gameplay, with Wii being developed by Sonic Team and the side-scrolling handheld game by Dimps.
Game publisher Sega previously promised to mark Sonic’s 30th anniversary this year with the release of new games and some major announcements.
Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka announced at SXSW Gaming 2019 that production on the next major Sonic the Hedgehog game was underway.
This February, Paramount Pictures released the first teaser for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on April 8, 2022. And last month, Netflix announced a new Sonic the Hedgehog 3D animated series called Sonic Prime.
Sega is also reportedly planning to stage a Sonic the Hedgehog music concert in 2021 as part of its 30th anniversary plans for the franchise.
“Throughout 2021, Sega will be celebrating Sonic’s 30th anniversary with new game content, a music concert with special guests and a wide array of new licensing and merchandising partnerships,” states February’s Total Licensing magazine, which focuses on brand licensing and extension opportunities.
Over 1.14 billion Sonic game units have been sold and downloaded since the series debuted in 1991, according to Sega.
