Sledgehammer Games is seemingly teasing a Modern Warfare 3 reveal
The studio has updated images of its logo to match leaked promotional material
Sledgehammer Games has provided the latest piece of evidence suggesting that this year’s Call of Duty game will be Modern Warfare 3.
The Activision studio has updated the header photos on its social media accounts, which now display its logo (pictured above) with the letter ‘E’ appearing in the form of a red Roman numeral ‘III’ on its side.
As spotted by Charlie Intel, the style of the numeral matches the one featured on what appears to be leaked promotional material for the game (pictured below), which was published online on Monday shortly before Sledgehammer updated its social media accounts.
It was first reported in February that Call of Duty 2023 would be a continuation of last year’s Modern Warfare 2, with development being led by Sledgehammer.
Activision seemingly confirmed this last week when it said that Modern Warfare 2 operators, weapons and bundles will carry forward into this year’s series entry, which has yet to be officially revealed.
Maps and modes from Modern Warfare 2 will also be carried over to the new title, it has been claimed.
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III” was reportedly referenced in DMCA takedown notices Activision sent to Twitter users sharing leaked images of the game online earlier this month.
The publisher claimed last week that “development of this year’s full annual premium [Call of Duty] release on PC and console is proceeding well.”
It also said the first details about the reveal event for the game will arrive in the company’s announcement of Modern Warfare 2 Season 5, which is expected to launch next week, meaning we could hear more about the title imminently.
