Paradox Interactive has delayed its upcoming Sims rival Life By You again, this time indefinitely.

The game was originally scheduled to launch in Early Access in September 2023, before it was delayed to March 2024 and then pushed back again to June 4.

In late April, Paradox issued a press release stating that the game was “ready for early access”, but that’s no longer the case.

“After much consideration, we regret to announce that we have decided to retract Life by You’s Early Access release date, previously set for June 4th,” Paradox said.

“This was not an easy decision, especially since we understand the anticipation and excitement that many players have for the game. However, we believe that additional development time is needed.

“While we would have preferred to commit to a new release window, we believe it is more prudent to hold off while we plan ahead, rather than committing to a new date that we cannot be certain to meet.”

Life by You is the debut title from Paradox Tectonic, a studio established in 2019 and headed by Rod Humble, the former boss of EA’s The Sims label and the ex-CEO of Second Life creator Linden Lab.

Last month, Paradox announced that customers who purchased Cities Skylines 2’s first DLC would be refunded, with the content set to be added to the base game for free after being “rushed out” in an unsatisfactory state.

Future paid DLC, and the game’s console version, were also delayed again.
