Silent Hill 2’ remake will be exclusive to PlayStation for at least one year

The Silent Hill 2 remake will be a PlayStation console exclusive for at least one year, it’s been revealed.

According to the game’s latest trailer, it will be “not available on other formats until 10.08.2025.”

While this doesn’t confirm the game, which will be released next month on PlayStation and PC, will come to Xbox on that date, this does confirm that the current exclusivity period is planned for one year.

Similar messages have previously appeared on trailers for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake games, and while they did appear on PC following that period, they have yet to appear on Xbox.

The new Silent Hill trailer shows off how the game plans to use the PS5 DualSense controller to provide haptic feedback to the player. The game will also support 3D audio and adaptive triggers on PlayStation 5.

The Silent Hill 2 remake is released on October 8 for PS5 and PC.

VGC’s recent Silent Hill 2 hands-on preview said the game is reminiscent of Capcom‘s recent remakes of its Resident Evil games.

“Crucially, for the health of the series, Silent Hill 2 feels like it’ll be exactly the kind of shot in the arm that will bring the series back into vogue,” we wrote.

“The Resident Evil remake comparisons will likely be inescapable, but is that a bad thing when Capcom’s latest efforts have been just as genre-defining for modern survival horrors as both Resident Evil and Silent Hill were in the genre’s nascent days?”
