Shift Up is exploring a Stellar Blade PC version and a sequel
It’s also working on a cross-platform project newly codenamed Project Witches
Shift Up has confirmed that it’s exploring the possibility of releasing Stellar Blade for PC and developing a sequel to the game.
In an initial public offering filing on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (via Gematsu), the studio also said its next new IP, which is codenamed Project Witches, is planned to launch globally across console, PC and mobile with cross-play.
The studio is targeting a release in 2027 or later for the game, which it reportedly likened to Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Fate/Grand Order.
In addition to considering a PC release and a sequel for Stellar Blade, the PS5 version will be expanded with DLC and new IP collaborations.
Set in the not-too-distant future, the third-person sci-fi action adventure sees players step into the shoes of protagonist Eve, a warrior who descends from an off-world Colony to help reclaim Earth after mankind is expelled from the planet by an invading force.
Ahead of its release in April, VGC’s Stellar Blade review called it “one of the most mechanically satisfying action games of the generation.”
We said: “For those who wished that God of War Ragnarok offered a bit more challenge or that Bayonetta had a bit more weight to its combat, this slick sci-fi slasher is the perfect tonic, offering both the perfect entry point into the Souls-like genre and a refreshing refinement of the well-worn character action formula.”
