September’s PlayStation Plus Essential games have been revealed

September 2022’s free PlayStation Plus Essential games have been revealed by their usual leaker.

Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has been accurately leaking the PS Plus line-ups almost every month since September 2021, has revealed what they claim to be the new titles coming to the service in September.

The new batch of games reportedly includes Need for Speed Heat and Toem.

Update

Sony has confirmed September’s PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium games.

According to billbil-kun, the games available from September 6 to October 4 will be:

  • Need for Speed Heat (PS4)
  • Toem (PS5)
  • Granblue Fantasy: Versus (PS4)

Need for Speed Heat is the 24th game in the Need for Speed series, and was released in 2019.

Toem is a photography game published by Swedish studio Something We Made, and won Best Debut at the 2022 BAFTA Game Awards.

PlayStation Plus Essential is the new name for the base PS Plus subscription service, where players get access to a few ‘free’ games every month.

Players can continue to play these games even after they’re no longer available to claim at the end of the monthly period, as long as they continue to subscribe to PlayStation Plus Essential (or a higher tier).

Once their subscription ends, they’ll no longer be able to play these games until they re-subscribe.

August’s PlayStation Plus Essential games are still available to claim until September 5. These are Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 (PS5/PS4), Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5/PS4) and Little Nightmares (PS4).
