Sega confirms Two Point Hospital for Switch, PS4 and Xbox One
Console versions to include PC post-launch content
Sega has announced that Two Point Hospital is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, both physically and digitally, in “late” 2019.
The spiritual successor to classic simulation Theme Hospital was released on PC in August 2018, created by Bullfrog alumni Gary Carr, Mark Webley and Ben Hymers.
Sega said the console version will include “many” of the features added to the PC game post-launch, including Interior Designer, copy-paste room layouts and character customisation.
The recently added expansions ‘Bigfoot’, set in a snowy region and ‘Pebberley Island’, where players tackle new challenges in the tropics, will also be included.
“Bringing Two Point Hospital to console is something we always envisioned when starting up Two Point Studios in 2016,” said Mark Webley, game director at Two Point Studios.
“Our community’s number one question since launch has been: ‘when is Two Point Hospital coming to consoles?’. Well, it is happening and we are very excited.”
Sega acquired British developer Two Point Studios earlier this year.
The Farnham-based company has around 20 developers, including veterans of titles like Black and White, Alien: Isolation and Fable.
The studio is currently working on “several exciting unannounced projects”, according to Sega.
