Rockstar shows off exclusive GTA and Red Dead memorabilia at Scottish museum
The Game On exhibition will run in Edinburgh until November
Rockstar North has loaned rare memorabilia from Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption to a games exhibition taking place at a Scottish museum.
Game On, an exhibition set to run at the National Museum of Scotland from June 29 until November 3, features a section dedicated to Rockstar North, which was founded and continues to operate in Scotland.
The exhibit, of which you can see exclusive images below, features a statue of Claude from GTA 3, a GTA San Andreas skateboard, a GTA 3 10th anniversary baseball bat and a ‘Key to the City’ from Grand Theft Auto 4.
Several Kubrick figures from across the various GTA games are also part of the display, as well as a replica of the Statue of Happiness from GTA 4.
The portion of the display celebrating Red Dead Redemption includes memorabilia including playing cards, a replica in-game catalog, and a double-sided puzzle depicting the in-game city of Saint-Denis.
A timeline of the developer’s games is also included in the event, cataloguing all of Rockstar’s major releases from the original Grand Theft Auto up to 2021’s Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
“Scotland has played an instrumental part in the evolution of video games as a medium,” said Jennifer Kolbe, Head of Publishing at Rockstar Games. “We’re excited to help the National Museum of Scotland reveal more about the nation’s contributions to this thriving aspect of modern culture.”
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
Rockstar released the first official trailer for the game earlier this year, which racked up over 90 million views in just 24 hours.
