Rockstar Games services are currently experiencing issues due to a surge in demand following an ongoing Grand Theft Auto V giveaway.

The Epic Games Store is currently giving away the PC version of GTA V free of charge until May 21.

The offer launched on Thursday and quickly crashed the Epic Games Store. The following day, Epic confirmed that some users were temporarily unable to download any free games through the Epic Games Store, including GTA V.

Rockstar has also acknowledged several issues since the offer went live.

“We are aware of an issue resulting in Social Club account verification email delays and are actively working to resolve it,” it said on Friday. “Players who have not received their account verification email after 4 hours should resubmit an email verification request.”

It also said on Sunday: “Due to extremely high player volumes, we are currently experiencing issues with access to Rockstar Games Services including the Rockstar Games Launcher and GTAV for PC. We are actively working to resolve the issue and will keep you updated of any changes.”

Rockstar released a dedicated game launcher for its PC titles in September, ahead of Red Dead Redemption 2’s troubled PC launch in November.
