Riot’s League of Legends fighter is called 2XKO and it’s targeting a 2025 release

Riot’s League of Legends fighting game, which was previously referred to as Project L, is now officially titled 2XKO.

In an update on Thursday, the studio also confirmed that it’s targeting a 2025 launch window on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

2XKO executive producer Tom Cannon said Riot is “entering a new phase of development” on the 2v2 tag-based fighting game.

“Overall, we’re building an always evolving fighting game for the FGC, and there’s so much to be excited for, but there’s also a lot we sill have to figure out, and so that’s where we’re going to need your help.”

A playable demo of the game will be at “a bunch of places across the world” this year, including Evo Japan in April.

Players can also now register for upcoming playtests, which may be held later this year.

“2023 was us in Project L heads-down mode, with a really valuable check-in at Evo,” Cannon said.
