Riders Republic reveals new gameplay and September 2 release date
Extreme sports game will feature massive races with up to 64 players
Ubisoft has revealed new Riders Republic gameplay alongside a September 2 release date.
A new five-minute ‘deep dive’ trailer for the game introduced a massively multiplayer race type called Mass Start Races, with support for up to 64 players.
It also shows the Riders Ridge hub, where players can meet with others and customise their character and equipment.
Vehicles in the game include bikes, snowboards, skis, rocket wing suits and hang-gliders.
Players can register now on the game’s offficial website for the change to take part in upcoming closed betas.
The game will include a number of the world’s most famous racing competitions, including the Red Bull Rampage and the X-Games.
Its career mode can be played either solo or as a series of PvP events.
Riders Republic is an extreme sports game from Ubisoft Annecy, the studio behind 2016’s Steep.
It will be released for consoles, Stadia and PC via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store. PS4 and Xbox One owners will be able to upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions for free.
Riders Republic will let players roam a large open world featuring American national parks Bryce Canyon, Yosemite Valley and Mammoth Mountain, and compete in activities including biking, skiing, snowboarding and wingsuit flying.
It was originally scheduled to launch on February 25 before being delayed in January.
