Respawn’s next Star Wars game confirmed for reveal
Star Wars strategy game will be revealed at Celebration in April

The Star Wars strategy game from studio Bit Reactor and Jedi: Survivor’s Respawn will be revealed next month, it’s been confirmed.
On Saturday, April 19, the pair will appear on stage at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Japan, where they will offer the first look at their “Star Wars turn-based tactics game”.
Little is known about the game, which was announced alongside Respawn’s shooter and the third entry in the Star Wars Jedi franchise.
The strategy game is being developed through a production collaboration with Bit Reactor, which is a new studio formed by veterans of XCOM and Civilization studio Firaxis Games. Respawn is producing the latest Star Wars strategy game while Bit Reactor leads on the development of the title.
In a statement published last year alongside the announcement of nearly 700 company-wide layoffs, EA Entertainment president Laura Miele said that after a review, it had decided Respawn should focus on the Jedi and Apex Legends series.

Another Star Wars game was announced in 2022, helmed by former LucasArts veteran and Medal of Honor co-creator Peter Hirschmann, was cancelled.
“Respawn’s unique ability to connect with players and create exceptional game experiences is unrivaled in entertainment,” Miele said in a statement. “As we’ve looked at Respawn’s portfolio over the last few months, what’s clear is the games our players are most excited about are Jedi and Respawn’s rich library of owned brands.
“Knowing this, we have decided to pivot away from early development on a Star Wars FPS Action game to focus our efforts on new projects based on our owned brands while providing support for existing games.”
